Through a Glass

Nominations are open until 2 April and the blogs
with the most nominations will be shortlisted for

Volumes 2 and 4 of the Radgepacket series, both
of which contain Fiona's stories, are now on sale
at the Created in
Birmingham shop in the Bull Ring shopping
centre. The paperback books will be on sale for a
period of at least one month, priced at £5.99
each. If you're visiting Birmingham and would
like to pick up a copy, go to the upper level of
the Bull Ring between the main New Street
entrance and Debenhams. The shop is open from 11
am every day and as well as Fiona's books you can
also find a welter of artwork, music, jewellery
and designer clothing, all by local artists and

Unravelling the Thread, a fun modern
take on the old Greek minotaur legend, has just
been accepted by QueeredFiction for their Love
& Fables anthology. When Theo's
sometime-girlfriend Ariadne thinks there's a
monster in the Coseley Manor maze, she sends him
in to Deal With It. Never at his best in
adversity, Theo surprises even himself - and is
rewarded with Beauty of a different kind on the
way to tackling the Beast. The anthology is due
out in June/July 2010.

Byker Books, the independent UK
publisher of dark urban fiction, have just
released Lemon Sour in their fourth
'Radgepacket' anthology. The story is a short,
dark tale of childhood humiliation and ultimate
revenge, involving a pair of yellow gloves. You

Fiona will be attending the launch party for
Radgepacket 4 from Byker Books. If you'd like to
meet her, the book's editor and various other
contributors, have a glass (or two) of wine and
some nibbles and get your copy of the book
signed, come along to sports bookshop The Back
Page in Newcastle city centre between 3 and 5 pm
on Saturday 13 March. The store is located at 56
St Andrews Street, Newcastle, NE1 5SF (post code
included for those of you with sat navs).

Midlands-based writers' resource blog Once There Was has posted Come
Friendly Bombs, a strange little flash about
a teenager taking revenge on his parents, on
their site. The story was 'commended' in their
first flash fiction contest and you can read it
free by following the link above.

'Things Aren't What They Seem', the anthology set
to include Fiona's short sci-fi Boyfriend
From Hell, has been cancelled prior to
publication by publishers From the Asylum, who
have now formally closed their doors.

Interest continues to grow in 'I Do', the charity
anthology released in aid of the Lambda Legal
Fund. Three review sites have recently rated it,
and rated it very highly. To find all the reviews

The future is queer - and here! QueeredFiction
have released the e-book version of their
time-travel sf anthology 'Queer Dimensions',
which includes Fiona's story The Visitor.
The print version is coming soon, on 21

The New Flesh (a new zine of
short dark fiction) have featured Clones,
a short dark sf about a science experiment with a
horrible difference, in their webzine today. This
story brings a whole new meaning to the idea of
paper dolls....

Fiona's latest flash piece, a modern parable on
the subject of bricks and mortar in only 150
words, is appearing in the latest issue (#42) of Mslexia, a highly regarded
British magazine of women's writing. The magazine
is available to buy via subscription, or on a
single issue 'try before you buy' offer, or at
branches of some bookstores. You can find all the
