Stories in anthologies:

radgepacket volume two Rock and a Hard Place This darkly humorous tale about an ageing rock star pretending to be gay has just been released in 'Radgepacket - Tales from the Inner Cities Volume 2' by Byker Books.
I Do anthology Salad Days A kitchen-sink romp involving two men and a fennel bulb, published in the charity anthology 'I Do'. The book is available in both electronic and print formats, published by MLR Press.
men of mystery Any Means Necessary A darkly comic tale of bent cops, in every sense of the word, in the Lambda Award 2008 finalist Men of Mystery anthology (a collection of stories on the darker side of life, edited by Sean Meriwether & Greg Wharton) from Haworth Press.


Stories in magazines:

Bricks An untitled flash on the subject of bricks and mortar, published in the latest issue (#42) of Mslexia. Full details of where and how to buy the magazine (which is stuffed with useful and inspirational articles and short stories by and for women writers) are available on their online 'subscribe' page.
flash me magazine This Life Sucks A short dark tale about a disenchanted vampire published in the January 2009 issue of Flash Me! Magazine. The story was inspired by a news report about several dustbin men who found an unused coffin propped up next to someone's dustbins one morning.
c p q magazine Washday Blues This kitchen-sink style romp involving two men, a washing machine and a pair of navy blue socks features in the new issue of Cobblestone Press Quarterly. You can download the magazine free as a pdf file from the Cobblestone Press website.
bent magazine Lizard King A short story based on the Russian 'frog princess' fairy tale. Three brothers still live at home until their parents give them a mobile phone and tell them the first number they dial will be the partner of their dreams. Patrick accidentally calls the local pet store, which brings all sorts of unexpected results. You can see more details including a list of contents at the BENT website.


Stories online:

The Pygmy Giant Lovers' Lane A noir flash which concentrates on the downside of having an affair and is set in a grotty car park.
Concrete Jungle A surrealist style poetic prose piece inspired by the gardens at Las Posas, Xilitla, Mexico, which were created out of the jungle by the English surrealist and patron Edward James in the early 20th century.
The Pygmy Giant Fish Out of Water A flash fic about a disastrous blind date, in the online British journal of flash fiction and poetry.
A Small Problem This is a very short, very tongue in cheek tale of a mission to Mars which goes horribly wrong. Out now in Issue 13 of Gay Flash Fiction.
velvet mafia Heat Haze A tantalising erotic story set in a desert where nothing is quite what it seems. Appearing now in the online gltb magazine Velvet Mafia, where you can read it for free.
radgepacket online Any Means Necessary Byker Books are featuring a slightly abridged version of this story in their 'Radgepacket' fiction collection. See their website for more details, and to read the story.
